Is there any way of automating the process of replacing numbers in the target language.
Example:
xxx um 30,5 Mio. Euro höher (German source) > €30.5 million (English target).
I have been using the QuickPlace command, but this is rather time-consuming.

Do you mean a find and replace operation on the already completed target? If so, using regular expressions during the replace operation would be the solution. If you mean during interactive translation, have a look at the Regex Match AutoSuggest Provider. Here's an article that may help.
