Cannot access Editor view

I´ve been having problems triying to enter the Editor view. I got the messsages "Failed to deactivate the Editor view" and "Unexpected exception when initializing view part fragment matches". I already followed the instructions from the Gateway page for this issue but it didn't solve the problem.

I tried by uninstalling and reinstalling the software and also by running the "Freshstart" App but non of this worked.

I do not Know what else to do... please, help!

  • Ok, so after trying a couple of things published here for similar problems this is how we solved Mariana's problem (hope it helps Pascal and anyone else who has the same problem):
1.- We completely uninstalled all SDL products on her PC.
2.- We updated Windows 10 to the latest version (there were several updates waiting to be installed).
3.- We downloaded the latest Studio and Multiterm version from her account, restarted the computer, and installed again both.
4.- We renamed the folder C:\Users\Rodrigo\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0 to 15.0.0.0_old.
5.- We deactivated her antivirus just to run Studio for the first time.
6.- We reactivated the antivirus and everything was working smoothly (kind of).

    Some remarks:
Windows 10 has two release types: feature updates that add new functionality twice per year, and quality updates that provide security and reliability fixes at least once a month. Try to always apply the fixes as soon as they are out, but go easy on the feature updates as those are the ones that tend to screw things up. Now, always try to update your windows before installing any other software update. After the updating and renaming I realized her computer was very very slow, we tried to use Studio, but it was still not working, it seems the antivirus was preventing Studio from recreating the "15.0.0.0" folder, as soon as we deactivated the antivirus everything was back to normal and Studio was working fine. Mariana's antivirus is ESET NOD 32 after the first run we reactivated the antivirus and the program was running alright. JuJust as a precaution you can add to your antivirus exceptions to make it not analyze the SDL folder under Roaming.
