Extra space added after asterisk

Question

Lets say I have two segments like this: 
 *Alice* likes apples. 
 *Bob* likes apples. 
 I translate the first segment, and Trados correctly figures out Alice is supposed to be Bob in the second segment. Unfortunately it shows up like this: 
 * Bob* likes apples. 
 For some reason studio keeps adding an extra space after the first asterisk, even though it's not in the source text, nor in the TM itself. Anyone have any ideas on how to avoid this? It's messing with my workflow as I have a lot of segments like this.

How does Trados figures this out? Is it a fuzzy match repair or have you set up variables in your TM for the names Alice and Bob? If it's a fuzzy match repair then there may be something in where the information is coming from to make that suggestion that causes the additional space and you need to correct it... possibly not a huge problem as this is still a fuzzy match, just a better one. If you set variables then you should check them to see whether you have mistakenly added a space in the list perhaps.

As it's a fuzzy match repair the way to fix it is delete the space as you work... it's just an improved fuzzy. The repair is less than having to replace *Alice*. 
 
But if you use variables for these names you won't need to repair it at all - multifarious.filkin.com/.../ 
 
Having said all that, depending on where the fuzzy match repair is actually being taken from there may be something we can do to improve the fuzzy match repair and make it even better. But that would require us having your project and your TM so we could investigate this properly with a developer. I'd be happy to see if we can look at this if you make them available to us?
