2019 Freelance Plus - AutoSave not working

Hello,

When I was using 2017 Freelance Plus, until the last week, I had no problems with the AutoSave function, as it always asked me If I would use the autosaved version of respective the file following a crash case (I am experiencing program crashes quite often, as my main TM is very voluminous and requires maintenance).

However, after starting to use the 2019 Freelance Plus version, I have neither received such a prompt, nor could I find any automatically saved file following a Studio crash. Now, I set my autosaving period to 2 minutes, to see if this function really works. But as I wrote above, still not receiving any prompt, or finding no autosaved files.

Thanks in advance,

Haluk

  • I too have just experienced this same problem.

Specifically, my installation of 2019 Translation Studio (SR1 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit system) just crashed, and even though I have AutoSave frequency set to 5 minutes and I worked in the file for longer than 30 minutes, there are no auto-saved versions available in either the Studio 2019 Project folder or in the Documents > Studio 2019 > AutoSave folder on my machine's hard drive. In fact, the latter location is completely empty.

In my experience with all versions of Trados going back many years, I have always been able to locate and retrieve auto-saved bilingual files. What's more, previously, upon opening Studio after a crash, the existence of auto-saved files was reminded automatically. No such reminder was offered upon opening Studio 2019 after this crash.

Please advise, and thanks in advance for any insight!
