How to either force QuickPlace recognition of "Z.E." or put it in in termbase?

Question

I have an acronym "Z.E." that keeps repeating. Quickplace does not recognize it and the termbase refuses to propose it, even though I can add it and even though I have "enable recognition of two-letter terms" checked. 
 Some other tools allow such terms to be added as "untranslatables" (in effect, forcing their recogntion by the equivalent of QuickPlace). 
 Is there any way to do this in Trados Studio?

 Use the Word Bird plugin to create variables on the fly. https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/wordbird/890/ 
 
 Then it can be added with ctrl+comma. 
 
 I use it a lot. And it works for symbols as well. You can also add and manage them manually in the main TM you're using in the variables list.
