MemoQ installation affects current Trados files

Question

Hi, newcomer to this Community Forum. Sorry if I don't proceed the right way. I'm SDL Trados 2019 basic user. A client is requesting me MemoQ, I've have installed a MemoQ demo test to check procedures and... all my SDL Trados files have been automatically "identified" as MemoQ files in Windows (no option during MemoQ installation to choose automatic filetype opening). How to reverse and/or arrange this condition? Client doesn't like to send files in supported mqxliff. Thank you!

You can re-associate the files with SDL Trados Studio in Windows by right-clicking on a file, selecting the 'Open with...' option, and choosing SDL Studio in the list. Just make sure to tick the box at the bottom of the window 'Always use this app to open.... files'. 
 
But you can also associate programs to certain file types in general with the 'Choose default apps by file type' option in Windows 10 or 'Choose default programs' in earlier Windows versions.
