Studio 2019 is cutting PDFs diagonally

Hello all! 
 
 I am working with very long PDFs, not scanned, and Trados keeps cutting some of the pages diagonally. The text is literally cut off, as if someone had ripped the page diagonally. In some cases, there is a diagonal swathe across the page where the text has also disappeared. I see this in the preview and in the target document. Just to clarify, the text is not moved diagonally. It is cut off, in most cases, right through the middle of entire sentences. 
 
 Any idea why this is happening? Is it because the PDF is too long (about 30 pages)? 
 I'd appreciate your input!

Perhaps the problem is recognition based on the content of the PDF. Is the background coloured and interfering with the OCR for example? Are you using IRIS or the out of the box recognition? Can we see a sample of the PDF... one page perhaps that behaves this way?

Then I can only suggest you try with IRIS installed and if this fails try using Abbyy.

I think that if this sort of thing is a regular requirement then your client would save themselves, and you, a lot of hassle and money by using a mechanism that took the intermediary format as XML prior to it being transformed to a PDF.
