Questions regarding TM search

Question

Hi,

I have some questions/doubts regarding fuzzy matches or 100% matches during pretranslate phase.

1) I noticed that in some cases I'm not able to get the best match from TM, especially when I have a single word and all upper case.

But with Concordande Search I often get a 100% match.

2) A similar problem occurs with a sentence.
I had a segment very similar to another one, there was only a word which was different.
The strange thing is that if I highlight the siurce segment and launch F3 I get a 95% match. But Studio indicates 67%.

Do I have wrong settings? Or do I do something wrong?

Could you please give us a bit more details? A screenshot of your TM settings and TM search settings would help us to determine where the issue might be coming from.

 I don't think you're comparing apples with apples. The TM results shows 65% because it's actually a different TU to the same one in your concordance results window. The one in your concordance results window is actually 69%. This small difference is probably acceptable because they are different scoring methods. 
 The reason the concordance window shows a much higher score is because it's not doing the same type of search. It's more fuzzy... and doesn't apply a simpler edit distance type calculation.

There's something odd about this because if these were both in the same translation memory you would see two things: 
 
1. A multiple translation penalty in the TM results window, so 99% 
2. The concordance result would show both LINGUETTE and BUSE as 100% matches in the Concordance window 
 
Is that 66% match showing in your active TM now, so if you show the TM Results window instead of the Concordance window?
