Project disappears from the project list - Impossible to repoen - Trados 2019

Hi everyone,

I bought Trados 2019 one month ago and it works without problem with the first translations but since few days I've a big issue.

When I close Trados and reopen, the project disappears from the project list. If I try to do "Open a project" to reopen it, I got this message in French  "Une erreur s'est produite lors de la tentative d'identification de la version du fichier" meaning in english "An error occurred while attempting to identify the version of the file".

I'm using Windows 7 and I've the last version of Trados 2019.

So I can't use Trados at the moment and it's pretty stressfull

Anyone could help ?

Thank you very much

Emi

  • Hello Paul,

Thank you very much for your reply.
In fact I used Trados 2011 before to upgrade to 2019 but I never created template.

    Anyway I tried 2 things :

    - To delete the projects.xml file like mentioned here :

    - gateway.sdl.com/CommunityKnowledge

And renamed the folder Template like explained here :

    - gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge

This 2 things are not working... I tried to open a package, close SDL Trados 2019 and reopen it, I've nothing in my project list. And there is no filter on the left panel.

I'm thinking now, the problem appear since I gave a new path to the project file (.sdlproj). When I open a new package I don't tick the box "Utiliser l'emplacement de projet par défaut de Studio" (Use Studio's default project location) and I choose a different path.

But when I used Trados 2011, I always choose the path and there was no problem...

About my configuration, I add some details : I'm using Mac OS Sierra with Parallels Desktop and I have Windows 7 into it.

    Have a very good day

    Emi
