Alignment Error

Before I decide to take the plunge and invest in purchasing this software, I need to test if it really meets my needs. I have already translated two full books for the same author and am about to sign a contract for the third. I just started my trial of SDL Trados but the whole day today was spent just trying to figure out how to align the documents I already have, so as to create my TM for this client. This is my priority client so this HAS to work by helping me become more efficient! However I cannot even get my first chapter (previously translated) uploaded and align. I keep getting the error: nested segment - unexpected. I can't find out how to contact any for of support and I have searched online. I have searched the videos and the forums and so far only find that it is an issue related to Trados 2015, but I just downloaded my trial version today and its 2019. Even the 2015 info seems to be vague so that I cannot figure out how to fix it. I have tried several different things, but if just to set up the trial its taking all this time, why even bother paying for full version, if my old manual method gets me further ahead quicker? Please help me find a quicker solution and be able to get this up and running within the next business day, bc I can't afford the time off.

  • Is there some way that I can chat with some rep that could help me determine if the software has the features I need and how to set up those features in a more efficient manner, so I can start testing right away? This is the second time that I am considering the software, but the learning curve just to try it, is my biggest challenge right now. I have a hunch that this will help increase my productivity and efficiency, but its definitely not intuitive and I end up wasting a lot of time watching videos and searching the forums just to figure out how to set this up. Am I missing something?
