Hi to all,
I downloaded an update this week and since then, I have an error message every 2 or 3 minutes when I'm translating.
The message says "Le paramètre n'est pas valide" (something like "parameter is not valid"). It blocks the program, I can't enter any text anymore, I have to close and reopen Trados but it keeps starting over again.
Anyone in the community who knows how I can fix this?

Hi Paul,

It often appears when I enter a "d" or a "l" or when I use the shortcut to insert a tag.
I noticed it appears since I downloaded and installed SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR1.
Could you please help me to solve this issue?
I tried the solution of Alison Field (repair Studio from the Control Panel) but it did not work.
I downloaded and installed SDL Freshstart and repaired all the SDL files/folders listed in this app' but it did not work too.
I renamed 2 of the 3 roaming folder I have, but I still get the error message "Parameter is not valid"...
I will really appreciate your help!

Marie, did you ever get a solution for that problem? I am getting the same issue and nobody seems to know how to fix this. I've tried everything they have suggested, to no avail. I am getting really frustrated with Studio 2019.
What version are you running? There was a fix for this issue released in 2019 SR2 CU4 so it would be useful to know what version you are one. Actual number of the latest versions are these:
SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.4.1693
SDL MultiTerm 2019 - 15.0.4.56053
Apologies for not responding... I didn't even see this response. It can be a good idea, if you tag a post onto an existing thread, to refer to someone by starting their name with the @ symbol and this will ensure they get a notification.

I am on version 2019 SR2-15.2.0.1041. Looks like I have an update to make. I will take care of it this weekend and keeping my fingers crossed that it will resolve the issue.

I apologize once again, but I cannot find the 2019 SR2 CU4 that you mention above. It is not in my account. It is not listed in the files to be downloaded.
Where can I find this update? I guess that is the reason why I did not update my app because I was not given/informed of that update.
Do you have a notification in the top right hand side of Studio?

I am also suffering from the issue with "Parameter is not valid" error message and not being able to type anything. My Trados and MT versions are exactly as Paul listed above (I recently uninstalled and installed new ones in a process of trying to fix a different problem, posted on this forum). I also applied Paul's fix of renaming the 14.0.0.0 folder.
My computer is running Windows10, updated. I don't remember having the same issue with my old Win7 machine. I am currently translating from Japanese to English with multiple TBs. Source files are docx and xlsx.
Does anyone have any insight?

I run DL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.4.1693 and have the same problem.
I made a reset changing the folder names and it seems to be helping me (just saying)
