Autosuggest and digraphs

Hi everyone,

When translating from English to Hungarian, autosuggest stops working when I reach a digraph in typing.

Example:

Studio recognises the TB term 'jegyzőkönyv' (minutes) in which 'gy' and 'ny' are digraphs (i.e. a two-letter phonemes). Interestingly, when I have typed the first letter of the digraph the TM autosuggest list disappears, and only reappears after typing the second letter. I checked it with several digraphs (gy, ly, ny, ty, cs, sz, zs) and the feature is absolutely consistent.

This rule seems quite language-specific. Is there a way to override it?

The thing is no big deal really, but as digraphs are quite common in Hungarian it can slow me down in certain cases (especially when I stop typing, hit enter and realise that autosuggest switched from TB results to MT results and inserted a couple of irrelevant words instead of the intended term).

    I had a quick play to see if I could reproduce this problem.  I may be doing this all wrong but I can't reproduce it ...

    Perhaps you can explain it more for me, or share a video of what you are seeing?  It would also help to know what resources you are using altogether as it might be related to a combination of things that you are doing that I'm not.

    Hi Paul,

    thanks for the response and the effort! I recorded a session with the same sentences.

    I added all four words that contain digraphs to a TB, as shown with the cursor.

    In the first sentence the autosuggest menu disappears after hitting the first letter and reappears after hitting the second letter of the digraphs gy and ny in jegyzőkönyvét. So this illustrates my problem. No imported language resources are used here, only a brand new TM and a brand new TB with default settings. As far as I can remember this issue has been with me since SDL 2015 or perhaps earlier.

    (Interestingly, the second sentence threw up another problem which I did not intend to discuss here, though it is a much bigger issue: the terms in my TB are not recognised! I've been struggling with it since ages. May it be related to the original issue?)
