AutoSuggest "Generate" button is grayed out

Question

Hi, 
 In Studio 2019, in File->Options->Language pairs->Spanish/English->AutoSuggest Dictionaries the "Generate" button is now permanently grayed out (also in Project Options), although a couple of days ago, while I was still using the free trial, it wasn't and I was able to generate and use a couple of dictionaries. (This is a new install, novice Studio user.) 
 I understand that AutoSuggest is now part of Studio and so is not something I need to buy and install separately. 
 In an old post from a couple of years ago it is suggested that deactivating the Studio license and then reactivating it may solve this problem, but in my case it hasn't. 
 Is there anything else can I try? Thank you!

 This feature is part of the Studio Professional version and the trial is a fully functional Studio Professional. Once the trial is over and you have purchased a Freelance licence the features available to you revert to whatever you have purchased and you will lose anything that was a Professional feature.  MultiTerm is a separate standalone product (also sold separately) which we give to all users who purchase a Studio licence. You do not need a copy of MultiTerm to trial the available features of Studio.

The guys checked your account and you have not processed your 2019 licence yet, so I can only assume that you are either still using the trial, or you are using 2017. 
 
If it's the trial and the feature is greyed this would point to your TM being too small to be able to generate the dictionary. Try a larger one... the minimum size required is 10k TUs. 
 
If it's 2017 then the same thing would apply as you do have the licence for this. 
 
I don't really follow your thought process though. Why would it be weird to receive after the pre-sale is over? As long as you purchased it pre-sale, but just didn't activate it until now, then the entitlement is there. Or am I missing the point of your comment?

 I'm sorry you didn't see any of the information avaiable to you when you decided to take the trial, and that you now feel misled, but we do provide many of the answers to your questions on the trial website.

 On this page it says that the trial is "fully functional and offers every feature of the product for you to try." You're right that this doesn't mention which version but it is quite clear that the trial offers every feature available. I'll suggest to the marketing teams that they update this page to make sure this is clear beyond a shadow of doubt.

 SDL Trados Studio is available in three different versions: Starter, Freelance and Professional. The reason behind having separate versions is that freelance translators do not usually require all the functionality within the full Professional license such as working on a company network. 
 View the comparison table to see the different functionality between the different versions. 
 It actually mentions more than once in various places on this page so if you had taken a look I'm sure you would of seen it. 
 The feature you mention, Auto-Suggest Creator is actually less important in Studio 2017 upwards because the upLift feature, which you get with the freelance version too, provides something very similar and with the added benefit of being a a feature that builds in realtime. So you don't have to keep generating dictionaries for use. 
 Are there other things you wish you still had now that you are running on a freelance licence?

 I don't follow you? It is part of the trial version. 
 I was referring to the fact there are multiple versions available. Even when you came to purchase the software didn't you ask yourself why you wanted the FL over any other version, or look at what was in the versions? When you go to buy you see this page:

 It's priced at 200 euros because historically the ability to generate an AutoSuggest Dictionary has always been an additional feature available only in the professional version or as an addon. It is one of the differentiators between the versions. If you disagree as to it's importance I'd be interested to see the results of your tests that demonstrate why it's so much better? I agree that it can deliver deeper mining of fragments as recorded by some of our users who take advantage of both, but I still think that for the most part a properly configured translation memory set up for fragment matching does a very good job of providing similar functionailty, and has the additional benefit of not requiring regeneration in order to keep it up to date with the contents of your translation memory as you work.
