How to change file usage in an already existing project (SDL TRADOS Studio 2017 SP1)

Question

Dear SDL Community,

I was wondering if there is a way to change file usage of one file (or more) while working on a project (for example, from reference to translatable).
I know how to change it when you are creating a new project, but I see that when you are working on an already existing project the "change file usage" option is greyed out in the Files view.

Once you have created the project, then the file usage is defined within that given project. 
The easiest way to change the file usage would be to simply recreate the project.

 Just to add to this, I don't think I'd recreate the project. It's probably quicker, especially in a large project, to simply remove the file and then add it back again as a new file added to the project for translation. This way you only have to prepare one file.
