Windows 10 does not let me open XML files

Question

Hello, 
 I moved Trados to my new computer which has Windows 10. Now all XML files are blank and cannot be opened with Trados (nor with MemoQ, for that matter) any more. I am simply not given the option "Trados" when I try to open it. Hence Trados does not open any projects that I get from agencies, or at least I assume that&acute;s the reason. I can search the computer for another app to open XML, but I get completely lost in the Trados program file and have no idea how to find the app there. How could I fix this?

From your description, I believe you are maybe clicking on the file and expecting Studio to open. 
What happens if you re-name and re-save the source file (in a new folder) - then Open Studio and then select the option of either single file translation or create new project?? 
 
Are you now able to work with the file?
