black boxes in the editor

Question

Instead of seeing the auto-suggest list I can suddenly only see a black box. This black box pups up all the time when I am writing. How can I activate the auto suggest function properly?

This sounds like one of those things we'll never understand and may well disappear with a restart. Have you tried that?
