Is there a way to get rid of Soft Spaces through Trados Studio?

 I&rsquo;m having issues with Soft Returns in an large Excel file. 
 I have lots of text like this:

I wonder if Trados Studio offers any setting to get rid of those spurious separations (or is it the only alternative to prep the file before loading it?)

These are not spurious... they have been put there deliberately by the author, which is unfortunate because it's simple to force Excel to wrap text rather than do this. The default TM setting won't break on line breaks so I guess your problem is you want to split the sentences up correctly into seperate segments? 
 
The problem you'll have is that line breaks are used in the middle of sentences as well as the end of sentences. I think the only sensible solution is to change the source and this probably means educating the client. 
 
If you can't do that you could try segmenting on the bullet symbol but you won't be able to lose the line breaks within the sentence.

I don't know what symbol you have for your bullets, but in a quick test this worked for me: 
 
Before break - anything 
Break - I copy pasted the bullet 
After break - while space

Trados Studio > 1. Trados Studio
