file recognition problem

Hi, I received a package, opened and a message (note) appeared instantly saying:

"This file was created using a file type definition that does not exist on your system (XLIFF 1.1-1.2 v 2.0.0.0). The following functionality will be restricted or unavailable: Saving, Verification, Quick Tags, Preview"

Is there something missing from my Studio? an update? or was it something the client arranged at his end?

The result was that I couldn't finalize the project properly and cannot reproduce the target translation in word format.

Thanks in advance

ah, fixed it! a notification appeared on the top of that window asking me whether I want to import more available file types option. The rest of the XLIFF options were there. all done.

Glad you fixed it... would be interesting to know how you got a project package containing a file that was created with the latest XLIFF filetype and yet your Project settings had an older one.  I don't suppose you use an app to change the project template being used and perhaps select a template that was created in an older version of Studio?
