Exception generated by call destination

Question

I've been working on a sdlxliff file on Trados 2017 since soon this morning. Suddenly I have received the message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" (indeed this message appeared also yesterday during the translation of another project) and after a while I've been no more able to open Project settings. In doing that I receive the following message "Exception generated by call destination". I tried to work on the file uploading it as a single document and not as a project: same problem and same message. Would please help me? I am in the middle of a work tobe delivered soon. Thank YOU

 I think I have only ever seen this error message once before and in an older version. 
 Could you kindly share the error stack please

This may help us identify what is causing the issue. 
 
 Also could you let me know the source file type/Operating System and MS Office version please.

I am confident that the problem is emanating from the TM and the concordance search. 
 
Would I be correct in the assumption you are using 'AnyTM' within the project? 
If so- does removing the AnyTM provider resolve the problem?

After all the information you have provided, it is not clear whether this is a 'general project setting' related tissue or has something to do directly related with the TM. 
Therefore, could you create a (new) single file project- but without any TM's whatsoever. 
If you are able to do this and then open the file for translation, we can more or less safely say it a problem with the TM, which would need further investigation.
