Verification: the list of regular expressions is too limited. It would be nice if this functionality were expanded or Microsoft Regular Expression Language (docs.microsoft.com/.../regular-expression-language-quick-reference) could be used.

AFAIK, the regex checker should be using the very .NET regexes you are referring...
