I can confirm the problem still exists in Trados Studio 15.2.6.2831

Have you read through the whole thread and checked out the recommendations/solutions suggested?

What precisely is the problem for you?
What steps lead up to it?
How does the problem manifest itself?
Are you using more than one screen?
Have you checked the settings mentioned above under 'File>Options' if you are working via 'Translate single file'?
Have you checked the settings mentioned above under 'Project settings' if you are working with projects?

Have you the latest update of Studio 2015 and of MultiTerm 2015? You can check this by opening each of them and clicking on the Help tab then on 'Check for Updates'. A dialog will open. Click on each button 'Next' or 'OK' to see if the product is up to date.

The problem presents itself exactly as described by Graham Chave: I use multiple screens (3 in my case) and have the Translation/Fragment/Concordance Results pane floating on my left screen. The cursor jumps over when I come to an empty segment.

I had already come up with pretty much all of the recommendations myself before reading the thread (and yes, I read it all).

Trados Studio 15.2.6.2831 is actually the very latest Studio 19 version (updated yesterday). I do not use MultiTerm.

The latest solution I came up with is bringing the Translation/Fragment/Concordance Results pane back into the main window docked to the left and then enlarging the whole window so the Translation/Fragment/Concordance Results pane is on the left screen while the rest is on the middle one. It is ok-ish. I guess I can get used to it. Of course the ribbon is split across the screen and the Project/File... views are split, too.

Ah, OK, sorry about misunderstanding which version of Studio you're using... I should have remembered that the first number doesn't represent the year but the version number that appears in the individual version files in Windows explorer...

Do you not use termbases/glossaries then? If you do, MultiTerm works so seamlessly with Studio that it is worth thinking about installing it. It saves so much time.

I use tabbed panes on my Studio layout and keep it all within one large screen. The problems I've experienced using two screens whether with Studio or other programs have mean that I decided to keep all of one heavy-duty program always on the same screnn and to use the second screen for other programs I need to have open in order to see supporting documents in, say Word or PDF format.

Both are customised layouts that I've been using for years and work really well for me.

The only time focus leaves the Editor window is if I have performed a search elsewhere.

One more question, has this started since a software update, of SDL Trados Studio or Windows for example?

I'm using glossaries but have my own app for this (for the past 15 years or so) which is now also integrated into Studio. I found MultiTerm too cumbersome for my taste and also too difficult to share and update with my proofreaders (I don't proofread myself).

I can't precisely remember when I noticed the issue. It seemed so random at first. It can't be so long ago because I only started experimenting with the floating pane when I added a 3rd screen in January. I don't think a software update is the reason, at least not Studio or Windows. It is the same on my other PC.

Ah, good, I thought it strange that you might not be using termbases in an integrated manner as they are so useful. MultiTerm has come a long way over the years but if you're finding your app seamless enough there's no argument for change really unless there's any functionality that you're missing in your glossaries app, that MultiTerm could do... 

So.... If the loss of cursor focus first started when you added the third screen then that is likely to be the trigger. I guess the basic first question should be, do you have Studio Editor on the screen that has number 1 priority? I wonder if the solution to this would be found via Windows multiple monitor configuration settings, of which I know very little. Maybe another user who is using Studio successfully on a PC with 3 monitors can offer advice...

no, not really. Wordbird is a spin off at best where I hoped to spark some UI improvements. I re-used the non-translatable front end
