error while retrofitting + object reference not set on instance of an object

Hello,

I cannot update my file from the reviewed target file (docx). The document is short (just 150 segments) and is pretty simple: just a text, no images, no tables, etc.

The process stucks on 20%. In the error message window I get this message: object reference not set on instance of an object. Can anyone help?

Hi Patrycja Drygas ,

I wonder if this is related to the latest cumulative update? Did you start the original translation prior to the update? If it's only a short translation perhaps you could open the source file again pre-translate from your translation memory and then try the retrofit process again. I'm just wondering if there is a mismatch of word file types here since we have quite a few since we applied the last cumulative update.

I started the translation after the update, so it shouldn't be the issue.
By trial and error I changed the target file name, i.e. removed '_', and somehow it worked. I haven't tried it, though, on other files which I also had had the same problem with.
