Fail to save excel file: Object reference not set to an instance of an object when saving a bilingual Excel file.

Question

I am seeing that many problem are having the same issue like me: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when trying to export a translation to excel file. Any attempt to follow some instructions for solutions have unfortunately failed (moving sheets in excel, reset window layout etc.)...so I am a bit confused as how to solve this...and the client is waiting. I would be so thrilled if anyone could assist here! Can send over the file if needed. Thank you in advance!

Apologies for not responding faster to your email... I actually used Studio 2015 to recover this. I did this: 
 
1. Created a TM from your SDLXLIFF file 
2. Opened the source in Studio 2015 
3. Pretranslated from the TM 
4. Saved the target 
 
This worked without a problem. I also tried to use the older Excel filetype in Studio 2017 but this gave me the same error, so using the older version was my only option.

Yes, that is what is meant by processing the file again. Try the solution I used for Trude with both of the Excel filetypes that are available to you and it if doesn't work for you, and you don't have access to Studio 2015 please feel free to send the file through to me and I'll happily take a look. email pfilkin@sdl.com

 Hi Siaoning Jhang no you don't. 2015 and 2017 are separate installations. However, if you don't have a separate licence for 2015 already then you won't be able to use it.
