Text not imported from MS Word file

Question

Dear all, 
 Today I discovered a problem with Word files in which some parts of the text were not recognized by Trados, leading to target files in which some sentences are left untranslated. Does anyone know if this is a bug or how this could be fixed? I guess it is related to parts of the files being hidden (like [strong][/strong]) but there is no embedded content option for Word files either. 
 I attached a sample source file, the resulting SDLXLIFF, and the incomplete target file. 
 Any help appreciated :)

OK, I see. I'm afraid this can indeed be a bug. 
Can you try to save as DOC and process this?

I don't know if it was a bug before or not, but I just tested the files provided and they are all handled correctly. This thread is pretty old, so if you are having problems can you advise what version of Studio you are using, and if possible share a file we can review? You can email the file to pfilkin@sdl.com if that's ok too?
