In this case perhaps you have some other software running in the background that is overriding the Studio keyboard shortcuts? I googled this a little and found this can happen occasionally... Adobe Reader causing windows keyboard shortcuts to fail for example. I do think the source of your problem is somewhere outside of Studio.

Can you try disabling other applications that are running in the background while you work?

You'd think so. But it's a general failure of cntl-z. Not sure whether there are other key-combinations that aren't working, but that one's noticeable.

 

I hadn't been following this thread too closely because the title suggests a general problem with all the shortcuts, but the comment above caught my eye, because I've been seeing the same thing. I can't pinpoint exactly when it started happening, but Ctrl-Z stops responding for me as well. It's not all the time and I can't really say that it's project-specific, but it's definitely happening. Closing and restarting Studio usually solves the problem... until it happens again. I think even if it's not affecting everybody this is something that's worth bringing up with support. I've checked and Ctrl-Z continues to work as expected in other programs even after it stops working in Studio.
