Upgraded to Studio 2015 SR3 5262 but unable to launch the program. Please help!

Question

I've just upgraded from 2015 SR2 to SR3, but after "successfully" installing SR3, I couldn't launch the program. Here's the error message: 
 
 There is a problem with the installation. Studio cannot be run. If the problem persists you will need to re-stall Studio. 
 
 I've tried to re-install SR3 but still had the above error. I then uninstall Studio via Windows 10 manager, reinstall SR3 but FAILED again!!! That error message is still there. I really need help. I have a project to deliver in a few hours and now I couldn't do anything. Please help!

Hi all, We have now released a small tool to fix the issue when you have SR3 installed and it's not launching. Find instructions and download on our KB here: gateway.sdl.com/communityknowledge We will then aim to re-release SR3 tomorrow with this fix included. Apologies yet again from everyone at SDL for all the inconvenience caused. Please rest assured we will make sure this does not happen again in the future through a review of our processes. Thank you for reporting the issue, we have now pulled the installer while we understand what is happening and will re-release SR3 soon. 
 
In the meantime, to get you going again, uninstall SR3 and download SR2 from here if you don't have the installer files anymore: 
 downloadcenter.sdl.com/.../SDLTradosStudio2015_SR2_5082.exe

 Can you just ignore the deactivation message and uninstall. Then install SR2? If not I believe we should have a fix for this very soon which will allow you to leave SR3 in place and just repair it.

Please check your Add/Remove Programs list, there might be some leftover blocking the install, for example WorldServer Components or SDL Trados 2007 Support files etc. 
 
We will provide a small tool that will fix SR3 for those affected as soon as it's available in a short while. This will mean you can use SR3 without uninstalling.

Please note that you do not have to remove SR3 now. You can use the small tool here to fix the problem:

There will also be a new version of SR3 released later today which will install correctly.

You are jumping the gun a bit here. There is indeed an SR3 installer on the FTP (time-stamped today), but that installer is not available in anyones account. There is no SR3 build ready (yet) to be deployed to customers so you are probably picking on something that was made ready but not deployed until we completed the final testing.. 
 
I don't know why there is an installer on that FTP site, but you should only use download links that are provided in your SDL account. 
 
Best to wait until we make an announcement on this.
