Studio 2017 - how to sort the Files View by date?

Question

I'd like to sort the files in the Files View by date, and can't find such a simple option (date) among the sorting/columns options. Can anybody help? Thank you Brgd

Hi Pawel, 
 
There isn't one. If you work with packages, or GroupShare projects then you do have more sorting options relevant to this but if you create the projects yourself you can't sort by date. Projects yes, Files no. 
 
One option is to rename the files before preparing them and then use the name to sort on. So something like the tool described in this article might support adding timestamps in bulk to the start of each filename and then you could use that... or number them in the priority you want.

I'm guessing you just keep adding files to one project per client so this is why you want a date sort order? Emma Goldsmith might have an interesting solution for this as I know she uses an autohotkey script to help manage work in a process like this.

 I have logged this request as: LTE-392 and will raise it with development for consideration in a future update. 
 I also read your blog mentioned above and the 'File Details' tab at the bottom should show you the number of file selected: 
 
 Also if you want to see the total number of files - the workaround would be to press: Ctrl+A to select all files and again you will see the total number of files in the 'Files Details' view. 
 Being an Advanced user I suspect you may already know this and I may have misunderstood what you were referring to so if I have missed something please let me know and I will also add additional enhancements based on your feedback.

It is default. If you View -> Reset Window layout in that view you should see whether it was there originally or not.
