Improving trados studio numeric strings detection

Hello all!

My question:

It happens many times that Studio identifies certain levels of multileveled lists but not other levels; e.g. level 4 is automated for insertion as one expression, whereas other levels have to be typed in manually one number and one full stop at a time. The list format is number-full stop-number. Is there a way to help Trados with this so I do not have to type all the section numbers not automatically identified as a numbered multilevel list?

Be advised that I am a newbe to this level of proficiency in using Trados.

    If I'm understanding you correctly it sounds as though your problem is related to the source file and not Studio. If the multi-level lists have been created using automatic numbering then they will not appear in Studio at all because they will be moved externally and you'll only see the text.

    If they have been created using text then they will appear as translatable text and the way to handle them is using custom segmentation so you put the numbers on one segment and the text on another. This video is pretty old but it does exmplain how to handle this:
