How to use Language Cloud combined with my own termbase in Trados 2021?

I've been trying Language Cloud with Trados 2021 lately and wanted to ask if there is a way to force Language Cloud to use the terms and corresponding translation available in my own termbase when showing NMT results.

Presumably doing so would significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy for NMT results.

  • To do this you need two things:

    1. an account for Machine Translation that supports the use of MT dictionaries (these are not the same as LC Terminology which cannot be used).  The free account with Studio does not support this.
    2. the MT Cloud plugin from the SDL AppStore as this supports the use of MT dictionaries if you have the appropriate account.  The out of the box LC MT does not support this.
Trados Studio settings window with an error message indicating the MT Cloud plugin is not installed.

With the plugin you get this:

SDL Machine Translation Cloud window showing options to select a dictionary with English-German language pair.
