It might be that your firewall is interfering with the connection. 

Please could you perform the following steps:
- enable port 443 on your computer
- and add the following websites as exceptions in your firewall:
lc-api.sdl.com
languagecloud.sdl.com
cxc-languagecloud.sdl.com

Let us know if t solved the issue.

Greta, a friend of mine has just explained to me what a port 443 is...

If I am not wrong, I have to authorize the applications or websites you mentioned to go through the firewall.

I went on the control panel. Security and systems. Windows firewall.

Authorize an application or a feature via Windows firewall defender.

The 3 above websites are not on the list.

So I clicked on Authorize another application.

The 3 above websites are not there either.

So I clicked on Browse....where can I find them?

Apologies for the confusion, the port 443 is to be enabled in your firewall, and for the 3 websites meant to say enabling them in your antivirus - adding them to the white list as exceptions.

As for the how to, it depends on your antivirus software as it is different in most of them. An internet search should help you see how you can perform it in your antivirus.
