Adding a variable just with the keyboard, without mouse

Hi everybody,

Just upgraded to Trados Studio 2017 and I seems that I need to use the mouse to add a variable to the Variable list.

I wrote an AutoHotkey script some time ago and it works, it's fast, but as I need to use the mouse, I find the script not very nice to be shared with you.

So I'm wondering if I'm wrong and somebody can add a variable just using the keyboard. As I said, I think it's not possible: although I can get to the Variables list using only the keyboard, I eventually need to double-click the ending empty line just before writing the variable in order to add it.

If you can do it, please let me know.

  • Hi ,

You are right it is tricky… but I can do it! After you entered the last variable press the escape key twice and then the tab key twice and the button you would have to click to close it is now active. The Escape key gets you out of that part of the window without losing the variables you added.
