AI bridge translation does not use terms of my groupshare server termbase, local termbase works

Environment: Trados studio 2026, groupshare server is updated to the latest 2020 SR2 CU15.

AI tells me this is because my server runs on HTTP with no SSL encryption, and AI mandate HTTPS connection. Is this true?

  • Hello,

Yes, this is correct. AI-based features, such as Language Weaver or other AI-driven functionalities in Trados Studio, often require secure HTTPS connections to ensure data security and compliance with modern encryption standards. If your GroupShare server is running on HTTP without SSL encryption, the AI bridge translation feature will not be able to access the termbase on the server due to the lack of a secure connection.

Here’s how you can address this issue:

**Step 1:** Verify your GroupShare server configuration.

      - Check whether your GroupShare server is configured to use HTTP or HTTPS. This can typically be done by reviewing the server settings or consulting with your IT team.

**Step 2:** Enable SSL encryption for your GroupShare server.

      - If your server is currently running on HTTP, you will need to configure it to use HTTPS. This involves obtaining an SSL certificate and applying it to your server. Your IT team or server administrator can assist with this process.

**Step 3:** Update the server URL in Trados Studio.

      - Once your GroupShare server is configured to use HTTPS, update the server URL in Trados Studio to reflect the secure connection (e.g., change `http://` to `https
