Is it possible to combine pixel width check and number or lines check in Passolo

Hi, I wonder if there is a way to combine pixel width check and number of lines check in Passolo (Teams 2018) and with Excel file format. We have an Excel table that contains the width in pixels but the line count is expressed in number of lines. Or do I need the height in pixels for one line (or full text box)?

Thanks

  • That depends on the fact if the automated WordWrap is activated or not. If WordWrap is activated then the translation doesn’t contain any Carriage Return which results into one single line of text. If WordWrap isn’t activated the text will exceed the width like here

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing a translation 'Dies ist ein neuer Text' without WordWrap, resulting in a single line exceeding the width.

Translators can insert a hard line break. That result into the fact that the width is not violated and a new line of text is added. If the number of lines is also set, then this can be checked in addition.

Screenshot of Trados Studio with WordWrap deactivated, showing the translation 'Dies ist ein neuer Text' with a hard line break, fitting within the width.
