Passolo validated status is new words in Studio

Hello. I've noticed that when exporting SDLXLIFFs from Passolo 2018, all validated strings from Passolo show up by default as new words in Studio analyses. I wonder if it would be possible to have these segments reflect as a different status, possibly 100% or Context matches?

  • I think the Studio/Passolo behavior is correct.
Studio Analyze is always run against a Translation Memory. If you analyze the SDLXLIFF and the content from the file is not present in the TM then it's normal to see new words. You would need to update the Translation Memory to get those segments in the TM.

The proper way here would be to run the tasks Translation Count or Work in Progress which will show how many segments or words are new and need translation and how many are already translated.
  • Yeah, this is understandably a tricky one to implement. We can't update Studio TMs for many clients as they are segmented by sentence and we would lose cross-leverage between tools. We could maintain separate UI TMs that are paragraph-segmentation which may have to be the workaround here to get a full Analysis.

I like your suggestion of running Translation Count as a workaround. Seems we will just need to map each type of segment status to a particular match type.

    Thank you both!
