GroupShare is available in two versions- 'SaaS' and 'On Premise'

SaaS versions are automatically backed up on the cloud,however 'On Premise' versions ( I believe this is the version you have) needs a manual backup organised by your IT department and for which there are no reliable 'shortcuts' due to the complexity of SQL DB's and the ease in which these can become corrupted and unusable.

In such circumstances and should you have a valid PSMA, I would always advise you to contact support so they can help in these circumstances and ensure nothing is 'broken'.

Hi, we have the Saas version of Groupshare (i.e. Groupshare Cloud). Do I correctly understand that in case I should for example accidentally delete our entire termbase or one of our translation memories, there will always be a backup available? Is the backup done on a daily basis?

Dear Hugo,

You are correct. If you are a GroupShare Cloud subscriber then you do not need to worry about performing any backup tasks. SDL is taking frequent backups of the GroupShare Cloud data to help with unforeseen events such as accidental deletion.
As a GroupShare Cloud subscriber you are also entitled to a support agreement so if you delete, by mistake, a Termbase or a TM you can always reach support via gateway.sdl.com and they will be able to restore the missing resource as it was at a very close point in time (same day or a day before deletion).
