Cannot deactivate Trados 2019

Hello. I am running Studio 2019 on two computers. I want to deactivate the software on one of these machines. I have been able to get a deactivation authorisation, but I have not been able to generate a deactivation certificate, so the deactivation process is blocked. Please help.

  • Hello

I``ve checked your account and one of the licenses is available for activation, which means that the deactivation was successful. If you want to activate your license on a new PC, you`ll have to do it offline as described in this article: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039784

In case you have Windows 11 installed on the new PC, follow these steps before activating the license: In Windows search bar type "Device Manager" and open it and then go to: Network Adapters - Action - Add Legacy Hardware - Install the hardware that I manually select from a list - Network adapters - Choose a network adapter (Microsoft > Microsoft KM -Test).

    Thank you,
    Sorin

  • Hello again. Thank you for your reply. I should have explained a bit more in my above post. I use Trados on two PCs. I need to deactivate Trados on one of these, because I intend to wipe and reset the machine. (It is a Windows 10 machine, by the way.) Yes, I did reset the licence for one of my Trados activations, but the licence reset did not result in deactivation. I can still open Trados on both PCs! My concern is that, if I just reset a PC without deactivating Trados on it, then I will not be able to reinstall the software on that machine. I attach the "deactivation failed message that I get when I try to generate a deactivation certificate. Please advise what to do.
