URGENT – Trados Studio 2024 license reset limit reached after failed activations

Subject: URGENT – Trados Studio 2024 license reset limit reached after failed activations

Hello,

I urgently need assistance with my perpetual Trados Studio 2024 Freelance license.

Following a system migration, I was unable to activate Trados Studio 2024 SR1. The license remains shown in my RWS Account as 1 in use / 0 available, although Studio is no longer activated locally.

I have now identified a likely cause of the failed activations: after the migration, my Windows computer name contained the German special character “ä” (MLP-Surface-Hauptgerät). I have changed the computer name to MLP-Surface and restarted Windows.

I have also cleaned the local licensing state as recommended for Studio 2024:

  • Studio.lic was renamed to Studio.old.lic
  • the SafeNet Sentinel System folder was renamed to System_old
  • Windows was restarted afterwards

However, the RWS Account still shows the license as 1 in use / 0 available.

Due to the previous unsuccessful reset/activation attempts, I have now reached the maximum of three license resets within 12 months, so I can no longer reset the license myself.

Could you please reset/release the license server-side and, if necessary, reset my self-service reset counter so that I can activate Studio 2024 SR1 on the computer MLP-Surface?

This is urgent as I need Trados Studio for my daily work.

Thank you very much. MLP
