Hi,
I'm trying the trial version for Trados 21, but it tells me that my license was deactivated. I'm pretty sure I hadn't installed it before, but I might be wrong.
There was a short period of time where I was waiting on a 2017 licence provided by a client; I might have used it back then. That was last year though.
Is there any way to reset the license, so I can test 21 and decide, if I want to buy it?

If this is the case then I'm afraid you cannot use the trial again. You'll need a licence now as it cannot be reset for the free trial.
