We first provided advance notice of this change in March 2026, and reiterated it in our subsequent two release announcements. As a reminder, a 2 million Translation Unit (TU) limit per language pair will apply within each Translation Memory.

We're writing to confirm that this limit will be enforced from 1 July 2026.

To clarify a point of confusion we've seen from some customers: this limit applies per language pair, not against the TM as a whole. A TM containing multiple language pairs will only be affected if one or more of those individual language pairs exceeds 2 million TUs.

What this means (Applies to Trados Team, Accelerate/Business and Enterprise)

• Language pairs exceeding 2 million TUs will no longer accept new imports
• Project-related interactions (such as confirming TUs or using Update TM) will continue to function normally

We strongly recommend reviewing and structuring your TMs proactively, checking the TU count for each individual language pair, to ensure none exceed this limit. Our Professional Services team is available to support you with TM optimisation and management best practices.
