Highlighting in footnotes

Question

Have any of you had a problem getting text to be highlighted in footnotes? If so, how did you solve this problem? Thanks.

I think I figured out the problem. It's not that XPP can't highlight text in footnotes tags. We run regex search terms on XML files to highlight terms that should be highlighted. On import, the highlighting markup "" is placed around the text that needs to be highlighted in the main text flow. Text in the footnote doesn't get this markup in the XPP import file, though. I need to see why this is happening.
