Option to Use Language LOV Description in language selection dropdowns

In the Language LOV, it is necessary to use the the language code as the "Name" value for that LOV entry, largely because system functionality and interactions with translation use that value.   However, most users - and even professional linguists - don't have a perfect memory for what language each language code represents.  It would be preferable wherever a human can see the language (translation job language selection dropdowns, search result lists or other list view, etc.) to easily show the Description value instead.  that way users can select by "Tibetan" rather than needing to know "bo-CN".

  • Absolutely.   This likely isn't going to be a comprehensive list of all the places where this would be helpful to end users, but it should clarity to what I am talking about.

Ultimately I think that any place a list of languages appears in the UI, there should be an option to use the display language instead of the code.
