Check out / open a topic directly in Oxygen from Organize Space

It would be great to be able to check out or open a topic directly in Oxygen from Organize Space.

Today we need to use the client tools to do this.

  • Hi  ,

Thank you for sharing additional details.

I would like to provide some context that may be relevant to this community idea.

With the release of Tridion Docs 15.3, we introduced the Publication Editor, which represents a significant step forward from Draft Space, our existing browser-based editor. The Publication Editor is designed to address many of the most common use cases across our customer base by unifying key functionalities, such as Editor, Baseline, Reuse, and Conditions within a single interface.

In addition, this new editor plays an important role in bringing our browser-based applications closer to feature parity with the legacy Windows-based tools.

Looking ahead, in the release following 15.3, we plan to introduce a single-component editor. This enhancement will support editing of both topics and maps directly within Organize Space, further streamlining the authoring experience.
You can learn more about the Publication Editor from our bootcamp recording:  Tridion Docs 15.3.0 Bootcamp 7 of 7 - Publication Editor

  • Hi  , Our writers are working on editing topics in Oxygen. For our technical writers, Draft space is too simple, in terms of an XML editor. Checking out a topic without having to open the publication makes the work easier. I hope this clarifies the use case.

  • Hi  , I was thinking to edit a topic in Oxygen (Check out and open in Oxygen) as you can do from the desktop client (Browse repository). It could be a new topic also of course.

  • Hello  ,
    Thank you for your idea.
Can you please elaborate more on the use cases for this option?
For example is it a new topic to fill in content or tweaks for an already existing one that is part of publication(s) or maybe adjusting translations?
    Thank you
