We use reference documents, such as legal texts (for example, the Income Tax Code), in our translation work to ensure that legal terminology is used correctly. As these reference texts are updated annually, we align them to create translation memories that we reuse in our projects. However, there is currently no feature that allows us to update an existing alignment file. We are therefore forced to realign the entire set of documents with each new version, which represents a significant loss of time and energy. Would it be possible to introduce an option which allows us to update an existing alignment by incorporating only the latest changes brought to the reference text? This option would make it easier to maintain our reference translation memories and ensure that they always reflect the updated version of the legal texts.
