Definition of user preferences for comments window

As for now, it is possible to rearrange the default layout of the comments window: both order and size of columns can be defined by users.

However, the changes users make to meet their needs and preferences will be discarded with each closing of the project they have been made for.

Please allow for a global and a project-specific layout definition of the Comments window layout.

Current Default Column Order:

  • Severity
  • S/T
→ only interesting if the project definition retains comments from the source text - otherwise, this column could be hidden
  • Comment
  • Document
→ not relevant in 90% of the cases in my personal workflows. Therefore, I'd like to show this column only in the few cases when I really need it
  • Scope
→ has never been of any relevance to me. But I need to move it each and every time
  • Segment
→ very helpful column for navigating the comments. Unfortunately, the position of this basic information (together with severity) does not allow for efficiency as eyes need to move constantly from left to right.
  • User
→ not relevant in 90% of the cases in my personal workflows.
  • Date
→ not relevant in 90% of the cases in my personal workflows.
  • Version
→ not relevant in 90% of the cases in my personal workflows.

The picture shows the way i use columns in my workfows:

  • Green header: columns needed every time
  • Orange header: columns needed in some occasions
  • Red header: columns never needed

It would be very helpful to have the option of defining a preferred layout (for instance, grouping all green fields on the left side) and to save this definition.

This is currently impossible.
