How to integrate external terminology source

Hi all, 
 
 My first post here. Just to quickly introduce myself: I am leading the software development team at itl AG, based in Munich. My team creates and maintains various products and also builds internal tools to make live easier for our PMs and customers. 
 I was wondering how one would go about integrating an external source of terminology into a Trados Studio project, using the API. It seems to be possible using the ITranslationProvider interface, e.g. by sending the sentence to be translated to the terminology provider and getting a pretranslated sentence back with terminology matches populated. However, I am wondering, if there is a direct ITerminologyProvider interface, so that the term matches will show up in the terminology component of the Trados Studio GUI. 
 Does such a Terminology interface exist?

Hi, 
 at the moment we don't have such API available for public use. It is on our backlog and I do believe it will be available relatively soon as you are not the only customer with request for such API. 
 Please keep looking into this forum as we will be announcing when the new APIs will be available for testing.

 I cannot give you exact date but it's not going to be in next 2 months. We will see when it's stable enough to release at least for beta. Issue there is that we need to replace quite a bit of a code related to the terminology integration inside Studio.

Yes it has been repeatedly scoped out from releases (due to emerging higher priorities) but we are now tentatively planning it for the first service pack for Studio 2015. Again it's tentative because the product backlog is still very crowded. BTW we do have a PoC prototype of this but removed it from Studio 2015 as it might have destabilised the product (especially the existing integration with MultiTerm) too much, and we need more time which we no longer have for this release cycle.
