Automated MT via the MT Enhanced Plugin for Trados Studio not working

Hi 
 I'm using Trados Studio 2021 SR2 with the MT Enhanced Plugin for Trados Studio - connecting to the Microsoft MT Engine. 
 I created a project template with all the correct settings for this plugin. 
 If I interactively use the template to create a project, it will perform the auto-translate correctly. When I look at the Confirmation Statistics I see valid figures. 
 If I create a project via the API program I have written, using my template, not only does it not do the MT pre-translate, it does not do ANY pre-translate. If I look at the Confirmation Statistics I see no figures, just a load of "n/a". It's as if it's completely skipped the pre-translate stage. 
 Removing the MT Enhanced plugin from my template and re-running my program again works as expected, with valid Confirmation Statistics figures. 
 
 Has anyone else tried to do this with success? If so, can you share any tips/tricks to get this working?

 The Trados AppStore team picked this up, hence the cryptic message below about CRQ-35076. We have an integration from the community to Jira that creates this message and populates Jira (our trackng system) with the contents of your post. But we normally add some explanation :-) 
 There are a couple of things to note around this: 
 
 MT Enhanced was never built with automation in mind so it may require updating to be able to work properly in an automation script 
 Your API program may not be correct... we don't know if we can't see the relevant code 
 MT Enhanced is not an application we intend to support going forward and we have separated it out into separate apps that have been significantly improved and we will be happy to make sure these work in an automation script/application 
 MT Enhanced is opensourced so you can also review this yourself and perhaps fix anything that is missing in that application? https://github.com/RWS/Sdl-Community/tree/master/MT%20Enhanced%20Provider 
 
 We will take a look (CRQ-35076) and see if we can identify if anything needs addressing in the plugin. If it does we'll explain so you can make the changes yourself... or wait until we have time to prioritise this old plugin over other work we are doing.
