Our client's approval workflow is 100% inboxes. At each stage of the approval workflow, the approval status drives which inbox the document appears in, and kicks off whatever approval work is required as a result. Query folders doesn't factor in at all. (Having said that, I'm looking at how we can use query folders right now, and can't make the examples in the documentation work. That's a separate discussion...)

While our content creators don't rely heavily on inboxes, they are essential for our editorial and validation specialists, who use them as their daily worklists. We would like the inbox functionality to continue to be available in future releases of Tridion Docs (with some enhancements, like email notification). We do not currently use query folders, but the functionality they offer is promising. We've only recently explored query folder functionality, but one drawback appears to be that only logical level metadata is available for query processing. Expanding query capability to a wider selection of metadata would be very useful. More comprehensive and straightforward documentation explaining the query folder functionality would be helpful as well.

We have never used inboxes nor query folders. We have a small team and it's not been necessary.

In my department, users in every role rely on inboxes to manage and transition their files. This includes information architects, authors, editors, graphic artists, and localization coordinators. Inboxes are crucial to managing our workflows. We do not use query folders.

In my department, users in every role (authors, editors, graphic artists, localization coordinators, and information architects) rely on inboxes to manage and transition their files. We do not currently use query folders. Inboxes are critical to our current workflows.

Query folders potentially could be quite useful, particularly for grouping common topics on a feature. But that is not enabled in our current (somewhat superannuated) distribution. Awaiting the update...

We had plans for inboxes with LiveContent, but the lack of email notification or other notification features made them insufficient for our planned use case. A certain hostility to the web interface on the part of some of our planners has also limited our use of them.

As a technical author, I use the inboxes combined with filters to get a quick overview of objects that are in a certain status.

I rely on inboxes combined with filters on SDL Trisoft. Filtering by user, division, and language help me find the objects that I need to follow up on a particular project. My colleagues and I hope this functionality will not be discarded in SDL Tridion Docs. Inboxes combined with filters have made quick search, easy access, and best possible overview possible.

I use inboxes heavily in my role as Localization Manager, to manually export and pass translation files to my vendors, and monitor progress on the objects in each language. We are on LCA 2014 so I'm not sure if the functionality is the same on Tridion Docs.

Good question. The query folders are VERY useful. They allow me to collect and sort information under "My favourites" for easy access. They also allow me to collect information elsewhere in the database structure for easy access to related or common information. I save TONS of time using query folders. However, this feature is not very well documented in the documentation, at least not in the documents I have seen. By means of testing (and failing) and valuable support from you guys I have still been able to document the feature for everyone on our organization.
