In Trados Studio 2024, the built‑in RWS JSON file type does not reliably extract flat JSON dictionaries where dots are part of the key name (e.g. "buttons.next").

Escaped JSON paths ($['buttons.next']) sometimes work, but wildcarding and consistent extraction are unreliable. There is no longer a regex‑based JSON file type or capture‑group support in Delimited Text Files to extract values only.

Is there a supported way in Studio 2024 to handle flat key‑value JSON dictionaries in the same project as hierarchical JSON, without preprocessing or manual key protection?

Analyze Files not updating properly in Studio 2024 SR1

Hello,

I am using Trados Studio 2024 SR1 (18.1.3.6657) and I am seeing strange behavior with Analyze Files.

I have a project with 3 files:

2 files are already translated 100%
1 file is still in progress

When I run Analyze Files, the statistics do not seem to update according to my translation progress.

Example:

the 2 completed files still show a lot of no match / non-100% content
the third file keeps showing the same analysis figures even after I translate and review many more segments
for example, it still shows 3034 new / no match words

Additional info:

TM update is enabled
segments are translated and confirmed normally
Translation Count reflects progress better, but Analyze Files does not

In previous Studio versions, Analyze Files seemed to update more accurately as I progressed.

Has anyone else seen this in Studio 2024 SR1?
Any workaround or known explanation?

Request to Change Default Logic for Advanced Display Filter 2.0 (AND to OR)

In Trados Studio's Advanced Display Filter 2.0, the source and target input fields on the Content tab have an AND relationship by default. However, the purpose of using this filter is to identify cases where the source and target expressions are incorrect. Therefore, please change the default setting to OR instead of AND.

Cannot open Powerpoint file with embedded Excel files

I'm trying to create a project with a Powerpoint file containing embedded Excel files. I'm using Studio 2024 and the file cannot be converted. I get an out-of-memory error. It is a big file (145 kb). Any help with this?

Odd behaviour of editor screen in Studio 2024

Trados 2022 and Smart App Control

Hi Everyone,

Since a few months I keep getting this kind of notification on Windows when I open Trados or when I perform a task (opening a file for translation, proofreading, creating a package).

This notification appears randomly.

The information in the notification depends of the action I'm doing.

Yesterday, I couldn't even open Trados anymore. All it was doing is showing me the startup information then nothing:

This is not my screenshot, it comes from the post below. But I wanted to illustrate the only thing I could see yesterday when trying to open Trados.

Same kind of issue as this person: Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.12. 19268 will not start anymore + Plugins not working

I could'nt even uninstall it. Repair it did nothing. I had to turn off Smart App Control to be able to uninstall and reinstall properly.
I thought that since then I made a fresh intall this kind of notification won't appear anymore but unfortunately not... These notifications still appear and I don't know why...

And these notifications sometimes block me in my work as Trados can't perform what I'm requesting as some plugin are blocked by SAC.

I'm using Windows 11. I have done absolutely no change on my TRADOS installation. And I'm pretty sure it's an issue with Smart App Control but I don't understand why...

Trados 2017 not launching

Hi, I have Trados 2017 and regularly use it. However, this morning it suddenly stopped working and does not launch. I see the start up window saying 'initializing views' but it's stuck there and doesn't go anywhere. I've restarted the PC and changed the folder name as another was suggested in another thread but nothing happens. I've a deadline and this is causing me precious time.

I am not able to close myTrados Studio Freelance because I get the error message "Could not load file or assembly 'idrsnet15.dll' or one of its dependencies". Please advice.

I just reinstalled Trados Studio 2021 SR2, upgraded to the .12 version and installed the plugins (including IRIS). When I got a warning message, that IRIS might cause problems, I unistalled it again.

Now I cannot shut down my SDL Trados Studio application.

I get the error message above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't even tried to work with any PDF files yet.

Highlighting matching words

Dear Trados Support Team,

In my current workflow, I often need to filter out segments containing two words within a segment, regardless of their position within the sentence.

I have found that highlighting regular expressions such as (?i)(?=.*courier)(?=.*number) filter out segments containing the strings, but they do not highlight the matching words. When I use a simpler regular expression, such as courier|number, both words are highlighted correctly.

I am using the latest version of Trados Studio 2024 (SR1), build 18.1.3.6657.

Is this behavior a feature or a bug?

Search for terms where Source and Target are in English

Hello

Had one of my translators ask how he might be able to search his translation memory and termbase to find where the source and resulting target are both in English instead of the usual English to Language.

I think part of my issue in searching in Multiterm is that each language has their own database of thirteen languages instead of one.

We are utilize Multiterm 2024 SR1 18.1.2.3594

I did try creating a filter under Adminstrator>Restrictions>Italian Expert>Filters. My AI search told me to use in filter term to apply under Advance was"exists" but does not happen to be a condition to use. Did find where could utilize "contains" and value was using the spacebar. Did not seem to work. (on side note did just try and go into one I created but for some reason it says I have to be logged in as a user. I am the administrator)

Within Trados (2024 SR1 18.1.3.6657) tried the Translation Memory to create a filter and nothing.

Looking for suggestions on how to search for English to English terms.

Studio 2024 Hit list settings: field font size cannot be changed

I am using a Termbase where the terms have important fields. The font size of those fields is tiny and the font color is very light so I can hardly see the field content.
I have seen a video online where the section Fields has a Font button which allows to change both the font size and color. I don't know which Studio version this is:

But in my Studio 2024, this Font button does not appear. This is what I have:

Can someone please tell me what's going on here?
Is this a bug in Studio 2024?

Impossibility to create retun package using Microsoft Windows 11 and OneDrive

I have used for many years Trados Studio with satisfaction but since using One Drive I cannot run batch type tasks such as "Return package".

I tried to reinstall Studio after creating Studio related files in my local disk but Studio automatically creates Studio files in OneDrive.

Is there any solution (such as upgrading to newer vesion of Studio?)?

英語の訳文の生成時にはエラーは起きなかったのに、フランス語の方はこのエラーがでました。

エディター画面で検証もしてみましたが、「検証が完了しました。エラーは報告されませんでした。」と表示されました。

ハイパーリンクの箇所のエラーのようですが、ハイパーリンクのタグの中を確認してもvalue=の後ろはちゃんと入ってました。

Cannot update TM

I`ve just started Trados Studio.

I created one TM and tried to update using another saved file (.sdlalign). I got message "0/124 pairs were imported. Only doubled or cut segments were found" (My setting is Japanese, so I am not sure my translation is in correct terms....). I looked into the TM but any new segment was updated. Would you please kindly advise how can I update the TM?

Proofreading in Trados Studio

I have a specific question which I have not been able to answer by searching on the community page, although as a very new mwmber I do not know my way around very well yet. I wonder if I could ask it here.

I have been asked to proofread a translation of a document from Portuguese to English done by another translator, probably not in Trados Studio. I have been sent the source and target texts as Word docs.

I want to know if there is some way I can load these two documents side by side directly into the Review mode of the Trados Studio Editor, in order to carry out my proofreading job?

So far, I only managed to open them in the Align mode, correct and complete their alignment (which wasted a lot of time as many segments were mismatched), extract a new TM. Then I created a new project for the same source text, applying the TM just created, as well as a Termbase specific to the organisation commissioning the work.

This has produced, more or less the ST and TT side by side in the Editor window which I am now reviewing/proofreading. But this seems a very long way round, with a lot of time lost realigning segments and filling in blank ones. Surely, there must be an easier, more efficient way to do this.

Please can anyone help?

I keep getting an InterpreterException error in Trados Studio 2024 SR1 even after rebooting. The error message reads:

"The code fragment 'Chainer.SystemInfo.VersionNumber < new Version(5, 1, 2600)' caused the following errors: error CS0016: 'c:\Users\sedol\AppData\Local\Temp\3jrlhmip\3jrlhmip.dll' — Cannot write to the output file because another process is using it and access is denied."

The program aborts immediately on launch. I have already rebooted my machine, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?

Trados Studio 2024 SR1を使い始めて間もなく３か月になります。

問題なく使えていたのですが、ある日突然、翻訳メモリが一致を拾ってきてくれなくなりました。

ほとんど一致しているセグメントも、完全に一致しているセグメントも同様に、

「一致が見つかりませんでした。または検索が実行されていません。」と翻訳結果ウィンドウに表示されます。

Trados Studioの設定を変えたことはなく、上記の症状が発生したころにWindowsのアップデートをした覚えもありません。

現在、手作業と目視で過去の類似案件の訳文を照合しながら翻訳作業を進めておりますが、当たり前ながら効率が悪いです。

似たような体験をされた方、また対処方法をご存じの方、いらっしゃいませんか？

お力添えいただけますと幸いです。

Trados Studio 2024 Error Message

We've been getting the following error message - "An error has occurred while using the translation provider. XXXXX (the name of the server-based TM)". Response status code does not indicate success: 400 (Bad Request). Pleasew refer to the attched snip. This message appears when we press F3 concordance search, so it is not working in Trados Studio 2024. However, it worked a month ago. We've tried to use several server-based TMs and still get the same message on different PCs. We are using Trados Studio 2024 SR1 - 18.1.36657

Good evening. After sorting out my problem with Deepl, I now have the following message "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." What can I do? I upgraded the 2 translation memories that I use regularly just before I started receiving this message. Can someone help? Many thanks
