Cannot use "Create project package" because selecting "Users" crashes Trados Studio 2024

Question

Only one one PC, we have the same exact issue as described below:

File > Settings > Users makes Trados Studio 2022 freeze

Doing a full reset and re-installation allowed us to click on "Users" without crashing.
However, as soon as we tried adding a name, it crashed again.

The PC is using Windows 11 and is in Japanese. This seems like an issue with saving/loading the UserSettings file, but any advice would be appreciated.

 The issue where Trados Studio appears to freeze during the creation of a return package is not caused by the packaging process itself, but rather by the way Studio interacts with Microsoft Outlook at that stage. 
 When a return package is created, Studio allows users to send it via email. As part of that functionality, Studio loads its internal list of users in the background so they can be selected as recipients. While this list is maintained within Studio, Outlook is used to facilitate the email-sending process. 
 In some cases this interaction with Outlook does not complete successfully, which prevents the user list from being fully initialised. As a result, Studio hangs or becomes unresponsive, even though the return package itself has already been created successfully. 
 You&rsquo;ll might observe the same freezing behaviour if you manually go to File > Setup > Users , since that also triggers the loading of the internal user list. 
 Recommended Solution: Running a repair on Microsoft Office usually resolves the problem by restoring reliable integration with Outlook.

Hi Victor Linnemann 
 A reset might help you with this. To do this just close Trados Studio and then delete these folders: 
 %appdata%\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\ 
 %appdata%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\ 
 You will lose your plugins, and also your settings, but your projects and other resources will remain untouched. Putting the plugins back is trivial via the integrated appstore. 
 If you can't find these folders then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

 Then restart Trados Studio and see if that helped.

 Please create your own post and indicate in details what you were trying to do and where things stopped working - is it just with this one project that happens or with any project, are these saved locally or on OneDrive/shared drive, every troubleshooting steps you already tried, the errors encountered (screenshots help a lot). 
 If necessary, we can open a case with the technical team to investigate but we cannot do that from another user's post.

This has just began happening for me, too. I uninstalled Outlook (personally, I use Thunderbird and the fact that Trados tries connecting to Outlook is a mistake on the dev's side). When I kill the Outlook process in Ctrl+Alt+Del, Trados begins working again - all windows unfreeze, lists appear etc. But since this persisted after every computer restart, I uninstalled Outlook for good. And now Trados cannot open Outlook at all, so nothing crashes.

We'll see how long this works ;). BTW. Trados 2024 SR1.
