Selective Pre-Translation

Question

Hello! Using Trados 2017. 
 I've found myself using custom MyMemory keys for a certain kind of work. 
 The problem is that there are relative large files; in each, there are a large number of "narrative" TUs for which MyMemory is useful, but also a large number of "label" TUs for which MyMemory is useless. Unfortunately, I'm charged for the whole file, which is making the MM bill ridiculous. 
 Is there a setting that will allow me to hit a key when I want a MM pretranslation of a TU - and NOT hit a key when I DON'T want an MM pretranslation of a TU? Or something similar?

If you are able to identify these "labels" in the translation file then perhaps you can translate them first without MyMemory, then lock them all, and work on the "narrative" with MyMemory?

I'd look at the Document Structure column on the right first and see if the segments have different labels. If the file is structured well you might find you can filter on the label in the DSI column and that would be the most appropriate and reliable way to do this. 
 
But if not... then you could indeed filter on the segments with four words or less. Try this regex in the display filter: 
 
^(\S+\s+){0,3}\S+$ 
 
The expression just looks for spaces... assuming your words are separated by spaces.
